The integration of the intrinsic chemistry with the hierarchical structuration may lead to an advanced set of functions, and the degree of which depends on the extent of the structure-function optimization at multi-length scale. Biominerals offer a primary case study for biological design and construction strategy for intricate architectures with hierarchical features and multi-functionalities. Bioinspired architecturation of complex inorganic nanomaterials of similar characteristics is facilitated by the deliberate design of bioscaffolds comprised of surface functionalities with govern mineralization capability and desired hierarchical features. We share our recent work on bioinspired architecturation where semiconductor oxides and zeolites are selected for concept illustration. 报告人介绍: Xu Yan obtained her BSc in 1985 from Jilin University China, PhD in 1991 jointly from the Imperial College London and the Royal Institution of Great Britain.
